I haven't blogged in a while, so I thought I would give you all a little insight into what's going on right now.
This week we are in Vacation Bible School and Alli and Cole are loving it. They get to spend lots of time with their friends doing all kinds of fun stuff. Our pool has been closed the last few days and I think the kids are going through withdraws. They are little fish and I hope to post some pictures soon.
Cole is also taking speech therapy. He has always been hard to understand, but we thought it was something that would correct as he grew. Wrong. In the last 3 or 4 months, Nolan has started talking and is so much easier to understand than Cole. That got us moving to test Cole and figure out if and how much therapy he needed. Well, his test results cried for therapy. He goes once a week for an hour each session. He just had his 3rd session today and is doing really well. His therapist is very impressed with how fast he picks up the correct sounds a letter makes. In fact, when I picked him up from his very first session, I walked in and he told me his name is "Cole". He has always said Tole. He can easily say the K sound now with many words and now the objective is to get him to catch himself saying words wrong and correct himself. He has also worked on F (which is a little harder) and G. It is amazing to hear how far he has come in a short time. We are very thankful to have found a great therapist and Cole loves to go to his "new teacher".
Jeff is very busy with work (he still isn't home at 10pm). We did get a chance to get away this last weekend. We went camping at Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma. We had a lot of fun playing around on a friend's boat and jet skis. The kids had a blast.
The new school year will be upon us soon (I'm not sure I am ready for Alli to start 1st grade. She is not that big, right?!?) We are also looking forward to celebrating Cole's 4th birthday and Nolan's 2nd. Wow! Where has the time gone?

Field of Dreams
Recently, Cole's t-ball team got a chance to take the field with the Oklahoma City Redhawks. They have a little program called "Field of Dreams" where a baseball/t-ball team from around the city gets chosen to go down on the field before a Redhawks game at the Bricktown Ballpark. They receive a ball for the players to autograph, they get recognized as a team, and get to stand on either home plate or the pitchers mound during the National Anthem. All of these little boys were pretty excited about being on the field and meeting the players. It was a fun time. Here's some pictures.
