Nolan's 2nd Bday

Yesterday, Nolan turned 2. Hard to believe, I know. He seemed to enjoy being told Happy Birthday alot and he really liked being sung to. He just sat there and smiled and then blew out his candles by himself. He got really excited and then shouted "Again!" We lit the candles again, he blew them out again, and he shouted "Again." This went on for a while until we finally told him no more. He just smiled and giggled and then dug into his little cake. I asked him if he wanted a fork, his reply was, "Um, No!" So funny. He was so excited last night! He opened a few presents and when Cole wanted his new toys, he gave him one and said, "Here, Tolester." So sweet! We had a good time yesterday and look forward to some family coming this weekend to celebrate Nolan and Cole's birthdays.

1st Day of 1st Grade

Allison started 1st grade today!! She was the first one up this morning (that never happens), so I think she was a little excited! ;) It was a very wet morning, which meant we had to mess with umbrellas and mud, yuck! None of that dampened her spirits. She was excited to stay all day. In fact, I overheard her tell Cole that she would "be gone all day, for a very long time. Don't worry, don't miss me, I will be back in the afternoon." She even wanted to eat lunch at school. Tacos, watermelon, and milk sounded really good to her. Here's a few pictures of her morning.

We have taken all of her 1st day of school pictures in front of this tree. Unfortunately, this year we had to include an umbrella.

Her classroom.

And her desk.

Yes, I was that embarrassing Mother walking around taking lots of pictures, but I wasn't the only one!

Nolan, our Monkey

Nolan has a new "favorite" thing to do. Climb up the outside of our stairs and then call out "HELP"! We come running just to see him holding on and smiling. It is a pretty funny joke to him. This crazy boy will be 2 in just 10 days. What kind of jokes will he pull in the "terrible twos"?!? :)

Here's a few more pictures of Nolan enjoying his favorite Popsicle from Mr Bill and Ms Judy (neighbors).

Frontier City

Alli and Cole signed up for a reading program at our county library at the beginning of the summer. As you read books, you log them into their reading logs and take them to the library and you get little prizes for reading so many books. Well, they read enough books to earn themselves a trip to our local amusement park, Frontier City. We decided to go yesterday and had a lot of fun. The kids did really well even in the extreme heat. Nolan did his best to keep up, but he was too small for some of the kiddie rides. Alli and Cole tried out some not so kiddie rides and lets just say they didn't like them very much. :) All in all, we had a great day riding rides, watching shows, and hanging out as a family. We lasted A LOT longer that we ever thought we would, 11 am to 7 pm. Whew, it was a LONG DAY! Here's a lot of pictures of our day.

Losing Teeth

Alli has now lost 2 teeth this week. On Sunday, Jeff was able to catch her off guard and pull one of her top, front teeth. This particular tooth has been SOOOO loose for SOOOO long, but she was afraid to pull it. Well, Jeff got it out, she realized it didn't hurt, and was SOOOO excited.

She lost another bottom tooth tonight while brushing her teeth. She was caught off guard at first, then whined because it bled, and then jumped for joy when she looked at the holes in her smile. That's 4 teeth lost and 3 more that are loose. We'll have to see if the Tooth Fairy has enough gold coins to pay her for all those teeth!

Here is a picture of our almost toothless, yet still beautiful girl.
