Alli's class had a poem recital for the parents today. Last week, they each got to pick out a poem with Mrs. Robinson to memorize and recite. Alli chose a poem about a little girl having a baby brother, but wanting a baby sister. She thinks it fits her perfectly because, although she loves her brothers, deep down she wants a sister. Here is a video of Alli reciting her poem. She did a wonderful job. She spoke loud enough for everyone to hear and for the most part spoke slowly. You will have to excuse the videographer. I wanted a full view of Alli, but didn't realize I wouldn't be able to rotate it once I downloaded it. Also, here is her poem, just in case it is hard to understand.
My brother's worth about two cents,
As far as I can see.
I simply cannot understand
Why they would want a "he".
He spends a good part of his day
Asleep inside the crib,
And when he eats, he has to wear
A stupid baby bib.
He cannot walk and cannot talk and
Cannot throw a ball.
In fact, he can't do anything-
He's just no fun at all.
It would have been more sensible,
As far as I can see,
Instead of getting one like him
To get one just like me.
